I have always had difficulties to find fast and attractive social sharing plugins. I’ve tried Jetpack sharing module and Floating Social Bar just to name few. But there was always something missing. Then I visited VelocityPage blog and immediately saw that I wanted to have those kind of Social sharing options. Simple font icon with link. Nothing more, nothing less.
I asked around if it was ready to go plugin they used. I didn’t get the answer so I build one for myself. Webshare was born. It’s mostly for theme developers because by default it doesn’t do anything, it doesn’t have any options. I might change this in the future but in the meantime go check it out. You can see the end result in Mina Olen demo site.
I was offered 100 000 dollars and half of Automattic to become a premium theme author on WordPress.com. This was a one time deal. Take it or leave it. Hmmmm, let me think about it.
Mina olen version 1.0.2 is now available. It has couple of changes.
- Better CSS for header image and callout link. Also couple of body class added.
- FitVids updated to version 1.1.
- In front page template portfolios and testimonials are shown as random by default. You can change this using filters.
I’m happy to announce my new theme Mina olen. I’m not sure am I just slow or into details but it took me several months to create this one. Some of the components are similar to Stargazer theme. They both use the most current HTML5 conventions and Schema.org microdata.
I’m happy to announce that new Payment Gateway for Easy Digital Downloads plugin is finally ready. I think I started to work on in about 6 months ago, then I put it on hold for a couple of months and coded most of it in December 2013. I have full trust on EDD and Paytrail what it comes to selling digital products.
Uh, this one is hard to explain. I have debug it about 5 days. When using assistive text for screen readers we usually do it like this.
clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);
It works on most cases but I hard weird issue when building social navigation menu. Using iPad or similar touch devices I could scroll left and right and that just didn’t feel right. It must have been bug in my CSS. And it was.
Apparently when using above code for screen readers it still creates “box” and it was “floating” outside my container. And I could therefore scroll left and right with iPad. It took me about five days to find this nasty little bug. Thankfully there is solution. Float the “box” far away from the menu using this CSS.
clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);
There are couple of important changes in Foxnet Themes site. Here is short summary about changes.
Paytrail payment gateway
I rolled out my first commercial plugin. It’s Paytrail payment gateway add-on for Easy Digital Downloads plugin. I guess site name is now No, not another theme and plugin shop.
Commercial products now have one year license. It used to be twenty years but January 8, 2014 I changed this to one year. If you purchased something before this date you still have 20 year license.
Documentation open for everybody
I opened documentation for everybody. It used to be for customers only but I figured that documentation should be open for everybody. It might push someone to actually purchase my themes or plugins.
Let’s be honest here. My site title says it all: No, not another WordPress Themes shop. I got $877.10 from this site in the year of 2013. At least $200 of that was testing purposes. Am I disappointed? Goes without saying that I am.
